March 1st, 2015

Ricky RubioRicky Rubio may or may not return to Minnesota Timberwolves; having been cleared to play against the Dallas Mavericks Monday night, the outcome of which will decide whether he will continue playing for the Timberwolves.

Ever since Rubio severely injured his left ankle on November 7th, he has missed 43 games. Without Rubio, the wolves fell to the bottom of the league. After Rubio’s return, the team is planning to limit the time he spends on the court in order to see how his ankle is responding.

Why the lack of LeBron’s MVP talks

February 17th, 2015

LeBronMost sports narratives usually focus on the new guys when the overall team records are reviewed. When guys such as James Harden and Steph Curry are on the receiving end of the majority of attention in NBA’s MVP race; the four time winner, LeBron James, is gradually yet effectively building his case. David Blatt himself, head coach; has come forth as LeBron’s Chief lobbyist.

When asked about why James wasn’t the highlight of MVP talk, David Blatt responded by saying, “It’s quite funny actually, to be very honest. First things first, he’s the best player in our team, and especially since he has been in perfect health – his performance is higher than ever. And one doesn’t have to look far to judge the impact he’s had on this team, when he’s on the court and when he’s not.”

Kyrie Irving reminding NBA he’s among the Elite!

February 8th, 2015

NBA coaches had already voted for All-Star when Kyrie Irving started scoring some serious buckets, bad timing perhaps; but Kyrie Irving keeps reminding NBA that he’s the elitists of the elite.

15422350331_8d800af8c2_mWhat truly proved Irving’s skill beyond question is the win over Portland Trail Blazers with a 55-pont burst finishing with a 99-94. This marks the high point in Irving’s career, and made him the 5th youngest player to land a double-nickel in the game in the last fifty years. His 11 three points made for a franchise record. In the Cavaliers history, only the infamous LeBron James has ever managed to score more (56).

Throughout the entire game, Irving was at his peak, which is quite remarkable considering the fact that he began the match and missed 7 straight shots. Nevertheless, he had the motivation to continue shooting confidently. Scoring big isn’t anything new for Irving. His hot streak not too long ago and his overall stats for the season are in line with it; but what really is new for Irving is that he is in the making of becoming a constant winner.
